The FortiGate 50G is a fanless desktop model in Fortinet's current G-series next-generation firewall range. Per Fortinet's datasheet it delivers 5 Gbps firewall throughput (1518-byte UDP), 2.25 Gbps IPS throughput, and 1.1 Gbps threat protection throughput (measured with firewall, IPS, application control, and malware protection enabled), with up to 720,000 concurrent TCP sessions and 85,000 new sessions per second.

The base unit provides 5x GE RJ45 ports (1x WAN and 4x internal, one of which is a default FortiLink port), a USB port, an RJ45 console port, and a TPM, in a 0 dBA fanless enclosure. The series includes variants with SFP, PoE (50G-SFP-POE), DSL, 5G WAN, built-in 802.11ax wireless (FortiWiFi), and 64 GB SSD storage (51G models).
