The DS725+ is the performance option in Synology's current 2-bay desktop line, running a dual-core, 4-thread AMD Ryzen R1600 (2.6 GHz base, 3.1 GHz turbo) with 4 GB of ECC DDR4 memory expandable to 32 GB. Networking combines a 2.5GbE port with a 1GbE port, and the official spec lists up to 276/224 MB/s sequential read/write.

Beyond its two hot-swappable SATA bays it adds two M.2 2280 NVMe slots and a USB-C expansion port for a DX525 unit, taking the system to 7 drive bays as capacity needs grow. Synology's stated uses include backing up multiple endpoints, managing IP cameras, and file sync and sharing.
