The FortiGate 90G is the top desktop model in Fortinet's current G-series next-generation firewall range. Per Fortinet's datasheet it delivers 28 Gbps firewall throughput (1518-byte UDP), 4.5 Gbps IPS throughput, and 2.2 Gbps threat protection throughput (measured with firewall, IPS, application control, and malware protection enabled), plus 25 Gbps IPsec VPN throughput and up to 3 million concurrent TCP sessions.

The unit provides 2x shared-media WAN pairs (10/5/2.5/1GE RJ45 or 10GE/GE SFP+/SFP) alongside 8x GE RJ45 internal ports, a USB port, an RJ45 console port, and a TPM, with an option for dual external DC power adapters for power redundancy. The FortiGate 91G variant adds a 120 GB SSD. It can manage up to 24 FortiSwitches and 128 FortiAPs.
